The workshop runs over two 5-hour days.
Part one focuses on understanding family harm holistically. Attendees will gain an understanding of:
- What family harm is
- Related legislation from Aotearoa New Zealand
- Theories to help build your understanding of the victim-survivor experience
- The impact of family harm on children
- High risk flags to look out for
Part two focuses on how to respond to risk within a family harm context. Attendees will learn:
- How to assess risk in victim-survivors and their whānau
- How to safety plan with victim-survivors and their whānau
- How to utilise other services and to create a “wraparound” response to ensure safety and best outcomes for victim-survivors and their whānau
Participants will receive a certificate at the completion of the training.
