At this Fabian panel discussion, three strong advocates with research backgrounds will present on the urgent need for reform in the critical area of victims’ rights, the rights of children and gender based violence.
The panellists are:
- Dr Kim McGregor will speak on her challenges as the inaugural Chief Victims Advisor to Government dealing with significant systemic gaps in the criminal justice system - especially for victims of gender-based violence.
- Professor Janet Fanslow will speak on decades of work to get family violence on the national agenda, as a health issue, and more broadly.
- Professor Denise Wilson will speak on the question, 'When will government and local government put mokopuna at the centre of their decision making?'.
