This Evidence to Practice Session focuses on Stand Strong, Walk Tall, a New Zealand-based prevention programme designed to address the gap in sexual offence rehabilitation prior to detection.
The pilot evaluation provided therapy on a self-referral basis to 19 adults sexually attracted to children. Results showed significantly reduced risk factors, increased protective factors, and improved wellbeing across participants’ engagement with the programme.
The research team will share findings and offer recommendations for further delivery and development of similar programmes internationally.
