New report on trans people, autism and healthcare
Gender Minorities Aotearoa have published a new report, Autism & eight: a transgender focused introduction to autism and 8 conditions that commonly co-occur (2025). This resource is designed for autistic transgender people and their healthcare providers. It explores autism, and touches on 8 complex conditions that can co-occur with autism. The content in this report is also presented in the e-Learning course developed by Gender Minorities Aotearoa, Trans 101 for clinicians.
New podcast features victim-survivors discussing their experience of family violence
Are You Okay have produced a podcast focusing on different experiences of family violence, The Insider’s Guide podcast. The podcast features episodes on children’s experience of family violence, violence in takatāpui and rainbow communities, violence in migrant and refugee communities, economic abuse, and surviving family violence. The Insider’s Guide also includes a series of short videos from people working within the family violence sector.
Breaking Silence series share diverse experiences of family violence in Aotearoa
Tagata Pasifika Plus has released the fourth season of Breaking Silence. The aim of Breaking Silences is to raise awareness and challenge harmful attitudes around family violence in Aotearoa. Across 8 episodes viewers will hear from people discussing their personal experiences of violence and its impacts, as well as from people working within the family violence sector. All three previous seasons are also available to view.
