The Rotorua Children's Team started working with the first children and families this week, said Minister for Social Development Paula Bennett.

The Children’s Team is made up of a group of Rotorua-based senior professionals representing health, education, welfare and social services. Minister Bennett said, “A lead professional takes responsibility for each child and ensures each person from each agency achieves their part in the agreed plan.”

The establishment of the Children's Teams is part of the Government's Children's Action Plan. Rotorua and Whangarei are the first demonstration sites. It is intended that Children’s Teams will be fully operational around the country by the end of 2017.
